The Pros and Cons of Using Various Types of Canopies Published on Monday, 15 February 2010 Canopies are generally used to provide shade and protection from the rays of the sun and rain. To avoid such forces of nature, they are installed outside a house, a building or even a car. Since they can be installed in many places, many types, designs and colors are available in the market for you. For instance, you have a choice between manual and automatic versions. While some prefer the manual type, most prefer the automatic since it's most convenient to use. You can open and fold a canopy with just a simple press of the button. Not every canopy is foldable though. But aluminum, for example, is preferred because of its durability. It also requires less maintenance. But then fabric is preferred because it's available in more shapes, designs and sizes than aluminum. The only downside is it actually demands more maintenance. A mobile canopy would also be in fabric because it's flexible and easy to open and close. Whatever canopies you get, you will surely be able to protect yourself from too much sunlight. The wood panels of doors and windows will not get damaged. Heat will also not get in fast so you would not have to turn up the air conditioning during the hot weather. And best of all, you can do so and enhance the look of the exterior of your home as well.
